The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on September 4 in the Sonadanga residential area. Local college students claimed that Mondal had made derogatory remarks about the Prophet on social media. After being apprehended by a group of students, he was taken to the Deputy Police Commissioner's office, where hundreds gathered to protest and demand his punishment. Idols Vandalized at Two Temples in Faridpur

 In Faridpur, the idols of Durga, Kartik, Arjun, Ganesh, and others were vandalized at the Hari Temple in the Gurdapatti area of Vanga Upazila. The attack occurred just days after artisans had completed the idol-making process, with preparations underway for painting. Approximately 100 meters away, at the Vanga Sarbajanin Kali Temple, the Ganesh idol was also found damaged after the construction work was finished and painting was pending. Both incidents took place during the night of September 17, raising alarm over the safety of religious minorities in the region. Local authorities are investigating the vandalism.
