Four Hindu Temple and numerous Hindu residence plundered and looted by Radical islamists, in Khulna Bangladesh.
Beheaded idols of Hindu God and Goddes
A group of fanatic Islamists vandalized four temples and several shops and several houses of the Hindu community in Shiali village of Rupsha upazila in Khulna.
Hundreds of Islamists attacked the village with local weapons around 6:15 pm on Saturday. Four temples, six shops and a house were vandalized. Upon receiving the news, senior police officers, including the Superintendent of Police, visited the spot. The whole village is in a state of turmoil; Police have been deployed.
Plundered and Looted Hindu temple
Villagers and people from the minority Hindu community said some female devotees were going to Shiyali Mahasmashan from Purbapara temple to perform kirtan around 9 pm on Friday. There was a mosque in the middle of the road. The imam of the mosque forbade women to chant. Then there is some argument. A meeting was to be held at the police station on Saturday.
Vandalised and looted Hindu Shop
Witnesses said that more than 100 youths attacked Shiali village with Ramda (Long mater sharp weapon), chapati and axe at around 6.30 pm on Saturday. They vandalized Ganesh Mallick's drug store, Srivastava Mallick's grocery store, Sourav Mallick's tea and grocery store, Anirban Hira's tea shop and his father Majumdar's shop in the market. At that time, the house of Shivapada Dhar was attacked and looted. Most of the idols of Govinda Mandir, Shiyali Purbapara Hari Mandir, Shiyali Purbpara Durga Mandir, Shiyali Mahasmashan Mandir of his house were vandalized. At that time, some people were beaten and injured when they tried to stop them. The youths fled before the locals formed a resistance.
Shaktipada Basu, president of the Rupsha Thana Puja Celebration Parishad, said police in the Shiali camp chased away the villagers when they protested in unison during the attack.
Sadhan Adhikari, chairman of Ghatbhog Union, rushed to the spot after the attack. He told Samakal that the vandalism of temples and houses had never happened before. The youths of nearby Chandpur village took part in the vandalism. He said the Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, Circle SP, Upazila Nirbahi Officer all came to the spot. We are touring the damaged area.
Khulna Superintendent of Police Mahbub Hasan told Samakal that additional police were deployed in the area, and everything was under control. We are working with local people.
