Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today recovered the mutilated body parts of the principal of a school and college in Savar, who had been missing for 27 days.

Mintu Chandra Barman, principal of Savar Residential School and College, went missing from Ashulia on July 13.

Ripon Chandra Barman, the victim's younger brother, lodged a general diary with Ashulia Police Station on July 22.

Rab arrested three people.

The arrestees are co-owners of the educational institute -- Rabiul, Motaleb, and Rabiul's nephew Badsha, the official said.

The trio planned the murder on July 7. According to the plan, Rabiul and Badsha called the victim to an empty room of the school on the night of July 13 after Mintu finished taking coaching classes.

The duo then killed Mintu and cut the body into six pieces. They buried five pieces of the body in the school premises and threw the head into a pond in Ashkona area.

Rab dug up five body parts from the school in Ashulia and were looking for the head, the official said.

Rabiul and Motaleb had dispute with Mintu regarding the ownership of the school. They were also jealous of him for various reasons, the Rab official said, adding that they admitted to killing Mintu during primary interrogation.
